Nate's been here 4 days now, and what an easy foster he is! Yea, Nate!!!
First, he's stunningly handsome. We all know that personality is far more important than handsome-ness, but he is truly the classically elegant greyhound :-)))
Looks aren't everything, and Nate is greyt on the inside, too. He's just turned 4 years old. After 90 races, at 4 different tracks, he's a calm and settled fella. While he's friendly and social, he's not a pushy "in your face" hound, and his reserve makes him very easy to be around.
He gets along fine with my hounds, and he completely ignored the kitties he met, so he is very likely safe with cats. He's met several little dogs, including fluffy white little dogs, and was uninterested. He also met several young kids, and even an infant at his first M&G and did fine.
His housebreaking has been excellent, and he's good with the vacuum cleaner. He eats well, but doesn't bother the other hounds while food is being served. He's not a counter surfer.
Is Nate perfect? Alas, no :-) He's actually very sneaky about taking some things. He may not counter surf in the kitchen, but anything of interest on the end tables is fair game at this point. He's grabbed a small box of cookies (those were MINE, Nate!!!) and he also likes paper towel rolls ;-}
There's more that's happened in the last 4 days, but I'll catch up on the rest later. He is one fine greyhound!!
